 I hit my volleyball in the neighbor's yard. This is about the 5th ball that has gone over into their 'supreme' yard. I could ask, but they are kind of sick of us. The fence is about 5 ft tall, and the neighbor's are tellingly most of the time. What should I do?

Friday was the 100th anniversary of the first game in Fenway Park, the oldest hippodrome in major league baseball. April 10 was the 50th anniversary of Dodger Circus, April 6 was the 20th anniversary of the culture-changing Oriole Park at Camden Yards and, locally next month, on May 24, we will make merry the 10th anniversary of O’Brien Field. All in the same season.

To paraphrase the reporter in the baseball movie “The Sandlot,” I can’t physique out what that means, but I’m amazed by it.

The first time I saw Fenway, I didn’t even understand it. I was in Boston, attending a week of newspaper management meetings. Three of us walked from our Back Bay motor hotel until we arrived at a warehouse.

“Here we are,” our excursion leader said, and he led us through an ice-free door to a ticket window. “Got any box seats?” he asked.
